Lemon Balm Honey Tea
Main Ingredients:
- 10-12 fresh lemon balm leaves
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cups water
Optional Add-ins:
- 2-3 lemon slices
- 3-4 mint leaves
- 2-3 slices of ginger (for a warmer flavor)
Instructions:
- Heat water until almost boiling (about 80°C/176°F - don't let it fully boil to protect the essential oils)
- Gently crush the lemon balm leaves in your hands to release their aroma
- Place the leaves in a teapot or cup and pour in the hot water
- Cover and steep for 5-7 minutes (don't exceed 10 minutes to avoid bitterness)
- Add honey and stir until dissolved
- Add optional ingredients if using (lemon slices, mint leaves, or ginger)
- Serve hot or over ice for a cold version
